Gaining Administrator Access

Symphony includes the following contract vehicle links

Before registering as a Symphony Administrator for a company, follow these steps to verify the Point of Contact (POC) role at the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) website.


1. Verify Points of Contact Role at SAM.gov


  1. Go to SAM.gov and sign in.
      
  2. Use the Search option and filter the results by Entity Information (see Figure 1).
      
  3. Enter the Company name or UEI (Unique Entity Identifier).
      
  4. Select the company name.
      
  5. Go to the Points of Contact tab to verify the SAM Entity Record, which is required for initial administrator access.

2. Download SAM record 

After registering in Symphony, POCs must Submit a Ticket and provide the SAM.gov UEI and a copy of the POC information so that we can verify access.

  • The documentation must show the Point of Contact's name and email address and the UEI.
  • If the user's name is not listed as a POC, they should Register as a Business User.


3. Register in Symphony

Make sure the correct contract vehicle website is accessed and use the Register Now link on the Symphony Sign In page (see Figure 2). SAM.gov Points of Contact (POCs) are the only authorized users for an organization in Symphony. 


Email Requirements: 
  • Do not use a group email address; only individual email accounts are allowed.
  • Each email address can only be linked to one company in Symphony
Multi-factor Authentication (MFA):
  • All users must set up their preferred MFA method during registration 
Administrator Role:
  • For security reasons, Administrators cannot add users to Symphony
  • Each user must register individually to become a Symphony user.
  • Registration and administrative tasks are handled within Symphony.
Validation Email
  • After registering, Symphony will send a validation email to confirm the email address.
  • Enter the validation code from the email to proceed. 
  • If the email is not received within a few minutes, check the spam or trash folders.
  • Click Cancel to restart registration.

Symphony is not affiliated with SAM.gov but uses it solely to verify entity information.

 

4. Acknowledge the Checklist

Before registering, ensure that all the required information is ready (see Figure 3).

5. Register the Organization

Enter the SAM.gov UEI for the Prime Entity (the contract holder or award recipient).

  • Do not enter the UEI of a CTA (Contractor Team Arrangement) Contractor, Subcontractor, or JV (Joint Venture) Member.
  • If there is more than one CAGE code assigned to the UEI, include the CAGE (Commercial and Government Entity) code with the UEI.
  • A company cannot share its data with another company under separate registrations.


Verify the information retrieved from SAM is accurate before proceeding.

  

6. Configure the Account 


  1. The username will be the email address, and the first and last name identifies the account holder.
      
  2. Set up MFA using a time-based Authenticator Application or text messages (see Figure 4).
      
  3. Complete registration by entering the code from the MFA tool.
      
  4. A confirmation page will display after a successful registration. 
      
  • Email is not an MFA option.
      
  • Scanning the QR code with a phone camera will not work for future logins.

7. Request Activation

Once registration is complete, contact us with the SAM.gov UEI and a copy of the POC details from SAM.gov so that we can verify access and activate the account. There is no auto-activation.
