How to Edit Your Submission(s)

Modified on Wed, 3 Jul at 9:03 PM

Complete these instructions to revise your proposals in Symphony.

1. Go to Your Proposal

From the Dashboard, use the Continue Submission button to identify the changes to make (See Figure 1).

Figure 1. Locate the Continue Submission button for the desired proposal.

2. Look at the Proposal Overview

The Proposal Overview summarizes the information added to your proposal, such as Team Members, MRCLs, Project Experience, and Business Factors relevant to the Contract Vehicle (See Figure 2). Links to the Document Library and your SAM data are also at the bottom of this page.

Figure 2. The Proposal Overview is a high-level summary of the assets included in your proposal.

SAM data is pulled directly from your official SAM record. If there is an issue with your data, update it at SAM, and then give 24-48 hours for the change to reflect in their database. A request to refresh the SAM data may require a contract modification and a ticket to the helpdesk outlining the changes. Contact us for a SAM refresh and please let us know your UEI/cage so the official SAM record can be retrieved.  The data in Symphony is for reference use only.

3. Confirm Your Company Assets

Looking at each section of your proposal verifies the data provided for your Team Members, MRCLs, Project Experience, and Business Factors.

  • In Symphony, you can add different assets to each submission (See Managing Your Content in My Company).
  • If you need to change your data, you may need to withdraw the asset before you return to your company profile (See Figure 3)
    • Once changes are complete in My Company, you can add the asset back to your proposal.
    • If you need to delete a Team Member, the team member cannot be included in any project experience or unsubmitted proposals. Make a temporary exchange with another team member in your project data.

Figure 3. The Withdraw button is available when removing assets, such as Team Members, from your proposal

4. Modify Your Performance Factors

When you add projects to your proposal, you must claim Performance Factors to earn additional points for the solicitation (See Figure 4). You must link to a file for reference and we recommend you provide reference “tags” (See Tagging Documents).

Figure 4. The Performance Factors are available using the Begin or Modify button next to each project added to your proposal.

  • You can reference multiple documents and select or deselect these references as needed.
  • Consider swapping documents as file references if you need to make changes.
  • How you tag the information is at your discretion. You are not limited to the prepopulated tags provided by Symphony and you can add as many tags as needed.

5. Review your Proposal

The Live Score is displayed at the top of the screen in your proposal, and selecting the button it is displayed on allows you to review your Scorecard, what the point values are, and how many points you have as you assemble your company assets for your offer (See Figure 5).

Figure 5. The Live Score accumulates points based on the data added to your proposal.

  • Symphony is designed for you to complete your Company profile using the My Company link before applying for a solicitation area and adding your assets.
  • Symphony displays warning messages for guidance and will not prevent you from submitting your proposal.
  • Please refer to the solicitation as the source of truth instead of Symphony.

The Review Tab

Reviewing all the information helps you to see how each section is scored (See Figure 6).

  • Warning and error messages are only for advisory purposes and will appear during proposal evaluation.

Figure 6. The red and orange messages are intended to guide you to the corrections necessary for a compliant proposal.

6. Submit your Proposal

Symphony will not prevent a SAM POC Administrator or Open Market Proposal Manager from certifying and submitting a proposal (See Figure 7 and Administration Basics).

Figure 7. Only authorized users are allowed to certify and submit proposals.

Once submitted, the selected pool will display the submission date and time, with the option to view the details when you return to the Dashboard (See Figure 8).

Figure 8. The View Details link is part of the Submitted proposal message.

Authorized users can retract your submission(s) if your company needs to make edits before the solicitation deadline (See Figure 9).

  • Resubmit if you make changes.
  • Once the Solicitation deadline occurs, all assets will be frozen.

Figure 9. Authorized users can retract the submission(s) by acknowledging the pop-up after selecting Modify Submission.
