Manage Your Company's Projects and Tagging
Purpose: This guide helps you successfully add, edit, and delete Projects/Past Performance records. It also explains the mandatory process of tagging documents to guide evaluators in proposal scoring.
Table of Contents
1. Add a New Project Experience
2. Tag and Upload Supporting Evidence (CRITICAL STEP)
Before You Start
Make sure you know the following crucial rules:
- Projects are reusable assets. You cannot delete a project that has been used in a submitted proposal.
- Before uploading, you must add annotations ("tags") to your PDF documents outside of Symphony.
- See the Tag Legend in My Company → Projects → Documents for the full list of tags.
- Solicitation Preference Filter: Set the filter to the correct solicitation (e.g., OASIS+) before adding or editing projects. OASIS+ stands for One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services Plus.
Note: My Company is for Asset Creation, and your Submission is for Asset Utilization.
Steps
1. Add a New Project Experience
Start by navigating to the correct tab and determining the project's type (Federal or Non-Federal).
- Go to My Company and select the Projects/Past Performance tab.
- Click the +New Project Experience button.
- Select the Contract Type: This determines the required data. If the Federal agency is not listed, use a Commercial Project Type.
- Provide Project Data: Complete the sections on Project Reference, Documents, and Details.

2. Tag and Upload Supporting Evidence (CRITICAL STEP)
Tags guide evaluators to the exact location of the supporting evidence in your PDF documents.
- Prepare Documents (Outside Symphony): Add clear annotations (tags) using your PDF software. You are not required to use all Symphony tags.
- Upload Documents (In Symphony): Upload the "tagged" PDF document(s) to the project's Documents tab.

Bridge: Prepare for Proposal Submission ⚠️
CRITICAL NEXT STEP: Adding a project here only creates the template. To see and claim your scoring points, you must move to the submission.
Note on Proposal Elements: Once a project is added to a proposal, you may use additional fields (e.g., custom narratives or scoring responses) that are only visible in the proposal submission. Changes to these fields will not update the master asset in My Company.
- Go to the Solicitations tab and click the Start Submission button to start the proposal process.
- Add a project to the proposal.
- Reference the Tags: When claiming Performance Factors, enter the keyword from your PDF document's comment into the "Location in the File" field in Symphony.
- Reference: Assemble and Submit Your Proposal
3. Manage and Delete Projects
Projects can be edited at any time. Deleting a project is a complex process.
- Review and Complete: Select Save and Complete after reviewing all details. The project title becomes a link to review or update the information.
- Deleting (Check Submissions): You cannot delete a project that has been used in a submitted proposal.
- Deleting (Drafts): If the project is linked to a proposal draft, go to the Submission and click the red icon to withdraw the project.
- Deleting (Final Action): After the project is successfully withdrawn, return to My Company and click the Delete button.

Troubleshooting
| Issue | Fix |
You are unable to delete a project. | You must first remove the project from any proposal submissions. You cannot delete a project used in a submitted proposal. |
| You are claiming a Joint Venture (JV) project. | Claim the project for the company that did the work. You must not claim projects for a partner that did not have a direct contract with the government. |
| The Project Title is too long. | The project title is limited to 250 characters. Shorten the name to save the record. |
| You need to use a project from OASIS+ for Alliant 3. | You cannot use the exact same project name. Archive the OASIS+ project and upload a new version with a different project name for Alliant 3. |
| Evaluators cannot find my tags in the document. | Ensure the exact keyword from your PDF comment matches the text you entered in the "Location in the File" field in Symphony. |
